Hansal Mehta, who is renowned for his ability to make engaging cinema from real life, is all set to make a Sanjay Gandhi biopic which will be an adaptation of Vinod Mehta's acclaimed book 'The Sanjay Story'.
The 'Shahid' helmer said that Vinod Mehta's book is remarkable as it is engaging, rarely judgmental and throws up surprising details on Sanjay Gandhi's life.
The 47-year-old Indian film director added that two things that allured him to create a biopic on Gandhi was that Emergency and its impact had always interested him and also because Sanjay Gandhi, his life and death have always been shrouded in mystery as has been his relationship with his mother, Indira Gandhi.
Notably, the title of the film still need to be decided, although the movie will go on floors next year after Hansal completes the shoot of his film, 'Simran' with Kangana Ranaut. (ANI)
