Harris backs England's batting 'uncertainty' to play into Oz hands in 'return Ashes'

Veteran Australian fast bowler Ryan Harris has said that England's uncertainty over their addition of inexperienced players to an otherwise 'stock standard' squad for the return Ashes tour will play into the hands of Australia.

Controversial spinner Monty Panesar and three uncapped players namely batsman Gary Ballance, all-rounder Ben Stokes and seamer Boyd Ranking, had been named in a 17-man England squad containing few surprises and the bulk of the side that claimed a 3-0 home Ashes win last month.

According to News.com.au, experienced player Nick Compton was a notable omission, with Ballance and top order specialist Michael Carberry favoured by selectors.

Happy with England's apparent batting dilemma ahead of the opening Ashes Test at the Gabba on November 21, Harris said that although Australia would need to work hard for the series, they can put pressure on England if they manage to research the opponents' mentality while batting and take advantage of their unsettledness over their line-up.

According to Harris, they need to use the same methods to pressurise England like they did in the recent Ashes series, adding that consistency was key to toppling England's big hitters, of which Ian Bell is the biggest threat.

Dismissing suggestions that the inclusion of some very tall quick bowlers like Chris Tremlett and Steven Finn was a deliberate strategy by England, Harris also said he believes that Tremlett and Finn have been picked as they are England's front-line bowlers currently.
