Harry Potter movie series won't be same again as the British actor who portrayed the role of Professor Snape in the series has passed away in London at the age of 69, it has been confirmed.
Alan Rickman, who made his mark as the bad guy with his cruel, drawling and ever-hypnotic role in the fantasy movie series, was suffering from cancer, the Guardian reported.
The actor's family confirmed the sad news.
Rickman kick-started his acting career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the late '70s and early '80s, before moving onto British TV shows and Broadway.
The late Brit actor was also appreciated for his role in 'Die Hard' alongside Bruce Willis as the incomparable villain Hans Gruber.
