Haryana Chief Minister (CM) Bhupinder Singh Hooda arrived today in Panipat for his mega 'Vijay Sankalp' rally, ahead of the assembly elections, which are to be held in October.
Addressing the crowd, CM Hooda's son, Deepender Hooda, challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to announce their chief ministerial candidate against his father Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
Commenting on the rally's turnout, Hooda's political advisor, Professor Virendra Singh said, "This is being seen as the fourth battle of Panipat. The way the crowd is emerging and people are supporting it; this rally is going to be very huge. People have already arrived before time. It's going to be a scene like the 'Kumbh Mela'. All these people have resolved to make Congress win here a third time."
Hooda, who has been in power in Haryana for the past ten years, is reportedly expected to announce a host of measures to attract voters and ensure a third time poll victory for the Congress Party.
