'Heartbroken' fans lament death of Darcy in Bridget Jones's Diary sequel

Bridget Jones's Diary fans were left "heartbroken" after reading extracts of 'Mad About The Boy' which revealed that Mark Darcy was dead in the third installment of the series.

Fans expressed their shock on Twitter after reading extracts of Helen Fielding's latest book that was published in the Sunday Times Magazine revealed that the world's most famous singleton becomes a widow, the Mirror reported.

Some fans lost interest in the third installment of the famed diary after reading the extracts, while others lamented the death of Darcy and said that it was "traumatic for Bridget Jones fans".

The death of Darcy appears as a flashback in the book which is scheduled to release on October 10.
