Mumbai experienced high tides near the Gateway of India today while the residents suffered from water logging in the low lying areas resulting in heavy traffic jams.

Vijay Parik, a resident of Mumbai said, "The people are facing great difficulty due to water logging as the roads are jammed. People from the municipality have come here to take a look at the situation."

Even before the arrival of monsoon people in Mumbai are facing problems of high tides which are expected to increase further.

Below normal rainfalls have been predicted this year by the Indian Meteorological Department.
