Hillary Clinton carried on with her speech after she dodged a shoe thrown towards her by an uninvited woman.

The former first lady made the joke at the metal recycling conference that was attended by about 1000 people, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

Referring to the shoe, she said that is that somebody throwing something at me and if it was a part of Cirque du Soleil?

She added on the previous comment that she didn't know that solid waste management was so controversial.

Footage of the incident broadcast by KTNV-TV showed the 66-year-old politician ducking to dodge the show as she gave a speech.
