The newly-appointed Union Home Secretary, L.C. Goyal, met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh here on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, Goyal replaced Anil Goswami as the new Union Home Secretary following a controversy over the arrest of a former union minister in connection with the Saradha chit-fund scam.
Goswami was earlier on Wednesday was sacked from his post for allegedly interfering with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over the arrest of Matang Sinh in connection with the Saradha scam.
Goyal, a 1979-batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre, earlier held the charge of Secretary in the Ministry of Rural Development.
