Scientists have tried to explain how the big bang and explosion of stars created life on Earth.

The American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT) and author Sam Kean have produced a video which sheds light on late astronomer Carl Sagan's famous words "we're made of star stuff."

Kean explained that the living beings were the final result of various explosions of burning stars, some extraordinary chain of events and chemical reactions that had eventually created all the elements in the periodic table that ultimately formed the Earth and every being in it.
