Saudi and Kuwaiti authorities have reportedly arrested three brothers for involvement in a suicide bombing carried out by a Saudi national on a Shia mosque in Kuwait last month.
While a security spokesman for the interior ministry did not identify the three brothers, he said that they were 'parties' to the crime that targeted the Imam al-Sadeq mosque in Kuwait, reported the Dawn.
One was arrested in Kuwait and will be extradited to Saudi Arabia, another was detained in the western Saudi city of Taif and a third was nabbed following a shootout at a house near the Kuwaiti border that wounded two policemen. A fourth brother lives in Syria and is a member of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the spokesman said.
The attack, which killed 27 people, was claimed by the ISIS and was believed to be aimed at stoking sectarian tension in the energy-rich country. It was Kuwait's deadliest militant attack.
