Google might reportedly introduce new members of the Nexus family in October and speculations are rife that HTC would debut the Nexus 9 tablet on October 16.
The tweet regarding the same has come from an anonymous tipster and does not offer much to bank on.
However, assuming that the date and phone name prove accurate, people can also anticipate the formal release of Android 'L' along with it, since Google famously uses new Nexus phones and tablets as the debut device for any major OS update, CNet reported.
The mid-October timing certainly makes sense and matches up with previous autumn launches of Android. In addition, the Nexus 5 smartphone is set to celebrate its first birthday on October 31.
The last few months have given way to numerous leaks and rumors for a Nexus 9 tablet. Most recently, images of a keyboard case emerged purporting to belong to the device.
In addition to the powerful Tegra K1 processor, other hardware for the HTC Nexus 9 could include an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2GB RAM. Known by its Volantis code name, the tablet may be just one of multiple tablets due from HTC, the report added.
