Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has called for a special parliamentary session to discuss United States President Donald Trump's remarks describing Pakistan as a country that continues to offer safe haven to "agents of chaos."

"We need to come together and send a message to the US that it can't pin the blame for its own failures on Pakistan," The Express Tribune quoted the Khan as saying on Wednesday.

He added that the whole country including government and the military are united against the US' allegations.

Pointing that both the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif had not responded to Trump's statement, Khan urged Abbasi to send a strong message to the US.

He alleged the U.S. of appeasing India ignoring the sacrifices rendered by the Pakistan Army in the war against terrorism.

"Pakistan has made far more sacrifices than what the Americans have given it in financial assistance," he said.

The PTI chief further said that the U.S. is applauding India instead of giving Pakistan credit for its efforts.

He said that terrorism in Pakistan originated across the border in Afghanistan and it's not Pakistan's fault that the US can't control what's going on in Afghanistan.

"We can no longer be silent about Pakistan's safe havens for terrorist organisations," Trump said as he cleared the way for the deployment of thousands more US troops to Afghanistan, backtracking from his promise to swiftly end America's longest war.

"We have been paying Pakistan billions and billions of dollars at the same time they are housing the very terrorists that we are fighting. That will have to change and that will change immediately," President Trump said.
