British Indian Bharulata Kamble has become the first lady in the world to complete the Arctic Circle expedition solo without crew, back up team or a support vehicle.
She safely returned back to Rovaneimi in Finland after completeing her solo Arctic Circle expedition during which she drove 2792 kilometres inside the Arctic Circle.
She completed this journey in a record time of four days, driving an average of 700 kilometres per day.
She reached the Nordkapp, the northernmost point of Europe solo.
She hoisted flags of India and the United Kingdom at Nordkapp and sang the Indian national anthem.
Nordkapp is 307-metre-high (1,007 ft) cliff, which is commonly referred to as the northern-most point of Europe.
FromNordkapp she continued to drive further within the Arctic Circle. She drove to Kilpisjarvi, the point where three countries Norway, Sweden and Finland meet.
Bharulata, a mother of two, was born in Navsari district of Gujarat. After leaving UK in her car, she drove alone through France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Netherland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland covering distance of 5700 kilometres.
She reached the Arctic Circle to Rovaneimi (Santa Claus's village) on September 23 and drove a total of 8492 kilometres. She drove a further 2792 kilometres within the Arctic Circle.
