A Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman has welcomed the growing friendly ties between India and Bhutan.

Hua Chunying told a daily news briefing that Beijing is paying attention to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Bhutan, but are glad to see the neighboring countries developing friendly ties with each other.

The Xinhua news agency quoted Chunying as saying that recent years have witnessed the healthy and stable development of the strategic partnership between India and China, and has full expectations and confidence in promoting ties with India.
