The 'HIM GOLD CUP' hockey tournament which kicked off on Thursday and will conclude on Sunday saw the Pakistan's Punjab women hockey team giving a tough fight to their Indian counterparts in Solan in Himachal Pradesh.
Six teams from India and Pakistan participating in a four-day women hockey tournament witnessed Pakistan's Punjab Women Hockey Team outshining their Indian counterparts throughout the tournament.
The tournament was organised in a bid to strengthening bilateral ties between the two neighbours.
Coach of Pakistan's Punjab Women Hockey team, Mustak Ahemad said that the team had trained well and had also performed well during the tournament.
"According to me the Punjab women hockey team from Pakistan is very well prepared for the 'HIM GOLD CUP' Tournament. This match is a friendship match with the message of love for both India and Pakistan. I believe that our team will play very well," Ahemad said.
The hockey players from different state teams and academies participated in the tournament with full enthusiasm and competitive spirit.
Captain of Pakistan's Punjab Hockey team, Fakhara Tabassum said that the team was confident of winning the tournament.
"Our team has practiced a lot and has taken many training sessions. We have full confidence and we would surely win the tournament,"Tabassum said.
Capping the event on a progressive note, the team members from Pakistan who participated in the tournament believed that the hockey tournament and many such sporting events would boost cordial relations between India and Pakistan.
