India has scored lower than Bangladesh in Legatum Prosperity Index that assessed global wealth and wellbeing in 142 countries.
India has been ranked 106th, while Bangladesh stands ahead at 103rd position.
According to the LPI report, India dropped 15 places in overall prosperity and in the personal freedom sub index, scored100th, due to a drop in the tolerance of immigrants and a drop in civic choice variables.
The Safety and Security sub-index dropped by twenty-seven places, to 120th, due to an increase in property being stolen, assault rates, group grievances, and drop in the perception of feeling safe walking home alone at night.
The Index ranked Norway as the most prosperous country and Chad as the least prosperous and free nation in the list of 142 countries.
