India on Friday reciprocated Pakistan's gesture by releasing 37 Pakistani prisoners who had been languishing in Indian jails.
This move by India comes close on the heels of Pakistan doing a similar act of releasing 151 Indian prisoners as part of its goodwill gesture on eve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in.
There has been a recent thaw in Indo-Pak relations with Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accepting prime minister Modi's invitation to attend the latter's inauguration ceremony and also both holding talks and showing a nudge to better relations between the two countries.
