Along with stars like Beyonce and Adele, the 59th Grammy Awards honoured Indian table player Sandeep Das, who bagged a trophy in the 'World Music' category, in collaboration with Chinese-American cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
Ace singer Shubha Mudgal took to Twitter to express her excitement over Das' big win, "Sandeep Das @santript gets a Grammy for Best World Music Album. Yayyyyyy !"
Considered to be one of the leading table players on the global platform, Das was part of Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble 'Sing Me Home,' which also had artists from different parts of the world.
On a related note, it is the same category, which had sitarist Anoushka Shankar's 'Land of Gold' in the nomination list.
