Online marketplace Snapdeal has announced the launch of 'India Says Thank You' campaign, an initiative in partnership with Uber, and 21 Fools - an organization that makes plantable paper products for a better world.
Supported by Snapdeal Sunshine, Snapdeal's donations marketplace, this initiative enables and empowers well-wishers to send a 'Thank You Box' to soldiers in the Indian Army and the Indian Navy. Users can send their contributions from the Snapdeal Sunshine platform from 22nd to 30th January, 2017.
"'India Says Thank You' is a direct and simple way for all of us to express our gratitude to our brave armed forces who selflessly serve the nation," said VP Corporate Affairs and Communication Snapdeal, Rajnish Wahi.
As part of the initiative, 'Thank You Boxes' are sent to various site locations advised by The Indian Army and Navy and are then distributed to the soldiers. These boxes contain a gratitude letter and a hand-crafted photo frame to keep photographs of their families as a memento.
The annual initiative also brings Uber on-board as a mobility partner this year. "Through this campaign we will be helping get as many 'Thank You Boxes' to thousands of soldiers, thanking them for protecting and shielding the country," said Business Development Lead Uber India, Saad Ahmed.
Divyanshu Asopa, Founder, 21 Fools added, "Every week we get dozens of postcards and phone calls from soldiers to whom we have sent thank you letters and rakhis in partnership with Snapdeal, last Independence Day. These are the most honest and heart-warming messages, though they also make us realize how little we do for our soldiers. That's why we decided to work with Snapdeal again and together convey our gratitude in a more meaningful and tangible way."
Each Thank You box is priced at Rs.50, and Snapdeal users have the choice to send boxes to up to 500 soldiers, per person. Almost 6000 boxes have already been contributed from multiple locations across India, since the initiative's launch. No proceeds from the initiative will go to Snapdeal.
