Indian Army Chief, General Bipin Rawat, arrived on a four day visit to Kathmandu on Tuesday to receive the honorary General title of Nepal Army.
The Himalayan Times quoted a statement by Nepal Army as saying that Nepal President Bidya Bhandari will confer the title on General Rawat on Wednesday.
Nepal Army's Lt Gen Purna Chandra Thapa received General Rawat on his arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport.
General Rawat met India's ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri today.
The Indian Army chief will meet Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Defence Minister Bal Krishna Khand separately during his Kathmandu stay.
He will also meet with his Nepali counterpart General Rajendra Chhetri, who had invited him for the official visit.
