A photoshoot, which is said to have been inspired by the infamous Delhi-gang rape case', has attracted a lot of criticism from social media users in India.

The photoshhot, The Wrong Turn, which features a model being groped by a group of men on a bus, has be slammed for "glamorizing the 2012 Delhi gang rape" and was taken down from the Behance site after angry reactions on Twitter and Facebook, the BBC reported.

The images show a model fighting off men on a bus, in a scene reminiscent of the rape and murder that shocked India and users said that they have found the photos "disgusting" and "horrible".

However, photographer Raj Shetye said that the shoot was "just a depiction of the situation of women in our country" and not based on the rape.

Bollywood music director Vishal Dadlani took to Twitter saying that the photoshoot was disgusting and he hopes all associated, die of shame, while Actor Amrita Puri tweeted that rape is not inspiration for a fashion shoot, and that she doesn't know what the photographer was thinking doing an editorial shoot inspired by Nirbhaya.

The gang rape and murder of the 23-year-old physiotherapy student, dubbed Nirbhaya (fearless) by the media, led to days of protests and forced the authorities to introduce tough new anti-rape laws, while four men accused of the crime were sentenced to death and the fifth, a juvenile at the time of the crime, is serving a three-year sentence.
