Indus Towers appoints Shankar Iyer as Chief Sales & Marketing Officer

Indus Towers, the country's largest telecom tower company, announced the appointment of Shankar Iyer as the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer (CSMO). With over 24 years of experience in diverse industries, Shankar holds in-depth business understanding of international and domestic telecom and tower industry.

"I am pleased to welcome Shankar back in the company. His passion, strategic thinking and disciplined execution will help in ensuring that we continue to deliver the best to our customers. I would also like to thank Sameer for his significant contribution to the company," said chief executive officer, Indus Towers, Bimal Dayal.

Shankar joins Indus Towers from Sixth Energy Technologies and has previously been associated with Indus Towers as a founding Employee Member and Regional Director. In the past, Shankar has also been associated with Titan Industries, Diageo, Coca-Cola, Hutchison Essar (Vodafone), Bharti Infratel, and Quippo Telecom (SREI Group) in various capacities.

Shankar is a graduate in Economics with Post-Graduation in Marketing and Advanced Management Program. He is an Alumnus of IIM - Bangalore and Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Shankar succeeds Sameer Sinha who has served as the CSMO in the company and was responsible for Sales, Business Development, Marketing Communications and Collections for the company.

Being with Indus Towers since September 2009, Sameer Sinha has been the custodian for customer relations and growing client base for the company. Over the next few weeks, Sameer will be working with Shankar closely for the transition period.
