Barcelona star Lionel Messi has said that his only wish for the upcoming New Year is to enjoy a season free from injuries.
The Argentina forward, who saw a hamstring injury bring a premature end to last season and a similar problem leaving him on the sidelines since November this campaign, looks set to return to action for the Barcelona's clash with Elche on January 5.
According to the Huffington Post, Messi hopes that it is the beginning of a prosperous year for him, adding that although he has several wishes as a person, but as a sportsman, he desires to have a year without injuries and be physically fit.
Barcelona qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League without its star but has seen its lead at the top of La Liga whittled down, with the club level on 46 points with second-place Atletico Madrid, the report added.
