INOX Leisure Ltd, India's leading multiplex chain announced an association with India's largest mobile payments and commerce platform Paytm to sell movie tickets to moviegoers.
The e-commerce platform will provide greater convenience to guests and expand the booking platform of INOX across India.
"We, at INOX, have consistently worked towards enhancing customer experience. In the current technology-driven ecosystem, it is important to innovate in order to stay ahead of the curve. This alliance with Paytm will provide convenience to our audience right at their fingertips," said CEO INOX Leisure Ltd, Alok Tandon.
As a part of its strategy to become an alternative to cash in the daily life of its large customer base, Paytm is aggressively extending its presence across verticals. Considering the current size of movie ticketing market in India, worth USD two billion and growing 10 percent annually, the on-line movie ticketing market is only 15 percent of the total domestic market.
With over 126 million registered users and 90 million orders per month, Paytm is an incredible platform to reach out to the growing movie aficionados of the country.
"Launch of movie tickets on Paytm is in line with our overall strategy of bringing more and more payment use cases online. When it comes to entertainment, it goes without saying that online movie ticketing wins the race. With INOX's strong presence across the country, we aim to offer multiple alternatives to our cinema lovers. At Paytm, we are committed to bring to our consumers their most cherished moments with utmost convenience," said Vice President Paytm, Renu Satti.
