Karti Chidambaram's Chartered Accountant (CA) S Bhaskararaman, arrested in connection with the INX Media money laundering case, on Wednesday filed a bail plea in a Delhi court.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested S Bhaskararaman from a hotel in Delhi on February 16.
The probe agency will reportedly oppose the bail plea.
On February 26, a Delhi court had sent S Bhaskaran, to 14-days judicial custody in connection with the case.
Earlier in the day, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Karti Chidambaram, son of former finance minister P Chidambaram from Chennai airport in connection with the same case.
It has been alleged that Karti illegally took service charges for getting the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance to the INX Media for receiving funds from abroad worth Rs 305 crore in 2007 when P Chidambaram was the finance minister in the Congress-led UPA Government.
