Ira Trivedi launches her new book at Goa international Writers and Readers' Festival

Famed author Ira Trivedi launched her book "India in love - Marriage and sexuality in 21st century' on the second day of the International Writers and Readers' Festival 2014 in Goa.
The second day of the festival was inaugurated by state Tourism Minister Shripad Naik in the provincial capital Panaji. The annual gathering brought a number of poets, prose writers, dramatists, philosophers, historians, playwrights and essayists from India and all across the world, under one umbrella at Kala Academy.
"Literature festival has many sides to it. But what's more important is what it gives back to the state of Goa is intelligent tourism. And that's something that this state, at this point of time, seriously needs. And at this point of time it's got these writers and authors from all over the world journalists who had come here from every part of India, also from abroad. People who have seen life from various angles and it get a perspective for the state of Goa and its tourism which is unseen till now and seriously needs to be explored," author Ira Trivedi said.
While launching her book Trivedi said that it was a proud moment for her to have launched her book at the International Writers and Readers' Festival in the presence of so many dignitaries. She added that her work has been a journey of four years across 15 countries she travelled, while her book talks about the various aspects of marriages in India.
Meanwhile one of the organizers if the event, Shweta Bajaj said events like these boost cultural exchange on a global platform.
"Initiatives suggest these help us tremendously to be able to have a cultural exchange with the West and with various other countries. Yes Bank, in particular, and I am a part of the Yes Bank, which also has a yes culture as their which focuses on promoting culture in various aspects," said Bajaj.
Various sessions were slated for all the three days of the literary festival. Reportedly this unparalleled literary event will henceforth be an annual affair for those in love with the written word. The festival showcases authors from English, Konkani, Marathi, Kannada, Hindi, Portuguese and other languages.
