A top special operations aide to Iran's leader has recently asserted that their troops are involved in a global war that would raise the 'banner of Islam' over the White House, a report said.
According to the Middle East Media Research Institute, while speaking at a ceremony for Iranian 'martyrs,' Ali Shirazi, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei's representative on the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Quds Force declared that they would not rest until they raise the flag of Islam over the White House, The Washington Times reported.
Shirazi listed Nigeria, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Yemen as the countries where Iran's Shiite Islamic revolution had spread.
He added that Muslims were embracing the idea of dying for jihad.
The news came as President Barack Obama inched closer to striking a major nuclear deal that would lift sanctions on Iran in exchange for Tehran to stop its attempts to build nuclear weapons.
