Reacting to Samajwadi Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav's statement on the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Janata Dal United (JD-U) leader Sabir Ali on Saturday said that it was ironical that Singh had earlier spoken about becoming the prime minister of India.

"If there can be no law and order in Uttar Pradesh then he should leave the government," said Ali.

"It is ironical that he talks about becoming the PM of India when he is relating the bad law and order situation in UP to the population," he said.

JD-U leader Ali Anwar said that if Singh was becoming old then he should teach something to his son.

"If Mulayam Singh has become old then he should teach something to his son. Problems will remain there but sadness will not work. One has to fight," said Anwar.

Singh had said in a press conference how can there be a good law and order in Uttar Pradesh when its population was more than 21 crore.

He had also asked people not to compare UP with Delhi as the former was ten times larger. But in comparison to UP, Delhi crime rate was ten times higher than that of UP.
