A Pakistan court has blamed the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for the disappearance of two labourers from the Chakwal coalmine, and said that if the missing persons are not produced before the court, appropriate action would be taken against the accused intelligence officials.
A Chakwal district and sessions judge told the Supreme Court that the two brothers, Umer Hayat and Umer Bakht, were picked up by the ISI on April 5, 2010 from Chakwal, the Daily times reports.
A three member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has directed the ISI through the Defence Ministry to produce both the missing brothers on September 28.
The judges also issued a notice to the Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP) for assisting the apex court in this matter, the report added.
The local police had earlier claimed that the two brothers, working at the coalmine of Malik Amir Farooq, were picked up by the ISI for investigation.
Meanwhile, the court expressed its annoyance over the transfer of the police officials who were assisting the apex court on this case.
