Police in Pakistan capital Islamabad will deploy about 2,500 personnel at 720 mosques and 39 imambargahs during the holy fasting month of Ramzan.

Five superintendents of police and additional station house officers will monitor this security detail, reports the Dawn.

Security details will be positioned at places of worship and in markets.

Police stations have been directed to coordinate with trade union office-bearers to ensure effective security.

A special drive against professional beggars is also being launched to prevent them from congregating at the places of worship.

Hotels, motels, inns and guest houses will also be under surveillance to prevent any untoward incidents.
