New Delhi [India], May 31 (ANI): It came as a huge surprise when Bollywood actress Shruti Haasan, who recently launched the first look poster of 'Sanghamitra' at Cannes International Film Festival, opted out of the film.

The actress who along with music maestro A R Rahman recently made her appearance at Cannes to launch the film was also doing a lot of combat training for her role.

While talking exclusively to ANI, the 'Gabbar Is Back' actress said "It's unfortunate but now I am not thinking about it much and I'm only focusing on this ('Behen Hogi Teri') film and my future projects."

The 31-year-old actress was in the national capital to promote her upcoming flick 'Behen Hogi Teri', where she confirmed the news of her opting out of the project. In the movie, she was supposed to portray the role of a warrior princess in the film and had begun training for the same.

In a statement, the 'Ramaiya Vastavaiya' actress spokesperson said that she had not received a proper bound script or a proper date calendar from the makers of the film.

Shruti, who is gearing up for her upcoming film, in which she is paired opposite Rajkummar Rao, believes that her character as a person is very similar to the role she is playing in the movie.

Shruti shared, "Her geographical background or locality or family, that kind of set up is completely not like me but when it comes to a character, Binny is very much like me in terms of strength and vulnerability."

She also said that the story is based on a chapter in the director's life, and her character is inspired by the life of the director's sister.

Directed by Ajay K Pannalal, 'Behen Hogi Teri' is a romantic comedy film slated for release on June 9.
