In the backdrop of numerous ceasefire violations and civilian casualties, Indian and Pakistan Army on Wednesday held a Battalion Commander Level Flag Meeting at Chakan-da-Bagh in Poonch Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Indian delegation highlighted abetment and support of Pakistan Army, to cross border terrorism, sniping actions on the Line of Control (LoC) and deliberate targeting of civil population during the ceasefire violations.
The resumption of trade and transit through Chakan-da-Bagh was also discussed by both the sides.
In the meeting, which lasted for nearly 50 minutes, both the sides mutually agreed to the importance of exercising restraint on the LoC and keep the channels of communication open between the local commanders.
The ceasefire violations from Pakistan's side along the LoC have risen in the past several months. 285 such incidents have been reported this year as compared to 228 in 2016.
