Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday confirmed reports of fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC).
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police (Rajouri-Poonch range), Danish Rana, said that there were skirmishes along the Line of Control.

"Ceasefire violations occurred in the last two consecutive days. The violations were committed last night (Tuesday) and in the early morning hours today (Wednesday). A small round of firing took place between both the sides (India and Pakistan) for about ten minutes. But it was provoked by the cross-border people. Thus, we also retaliated," he said.
A junior commissioned officer (JCO) was killed in heavy firing by Pakistani troops from across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Sabjian area of Poonch district last week
There were more than 75 ceasefire violations along the Line of Control in 2012, killing eight people. Most of the violations were exchanges of fire between the two sides.
