Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday evacuated 82 stranded vehicles after a fresh spell of heavy snowfall at Zoji La pass in the valley.
An official release confirmed that rescue teams from Jammu and Kashmir Police assisted by Beacon personnel started the operations on Srinagar- Leh National Highway as several vehicles and passengers got stranded due to heavy snowfall.
The rescue teams managed to safely evacuate all the stranded passengers and vehicles which included 70 Trucks, four buses and eight light motor vehicles.
The passengers along with the vehicles were immediately moved to Sonamarg by the rescue teams.
