The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday paid their last respects to slain constable Nazir Ahmad, who was killed in a militant attack in Shopian district on Friday.
Scores of civilians and security personnel gathered for the wreath-laying ceremony here.
Ahmad was killed when militants fired at cops, who tried to repulse their rifle-snatching bid at a police post in Reshnagri area. Another cop and a civilian were injured too.
The attack came amid heightened tension between India and Pakistan and repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the border.
Earlier on Monday, a border guard was killed and another wounded when militants attacked a camp in Baramulla district.
