Union Minister Jitendra Singh today assured that the central government was doing its best to provide relief and rehabilitate the flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir.
"The government is doing its best, it is doing better than any other government," Singh told reporters here.
Lauding the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Diwali tomorrow, Singh said, "The Prime Minister is more concerned than all of us, that is why he was here on the second day itself."
Singh also pointed out that the relief work was following a sequential order and everything would be completed at the earliest. Hundreds of people were killed and tens of thousands left homeless after extensive flooding in Kashmir last month.
Authorities say the cost of damage in Jammu and Kashmir may run into billions of dollars.
