A month after actor Dileep was released from Aluva Jail in Kerala, records by jail authorities on Thursday show that they were too liberal in allowing visitors to meet him during his imprisonment in connection with molestation and abduction case of a South Indian film actress.

Records that were made available on the Right to Information (RTI) query by Advocate D B Binu show that Dileep, who was imprisoned for 85 days, had a sea of visitors from the film fraternity during his stay.

According to the lawyer, prisoners usually are allowed to have four to five visitors in a month, but Dileep had 78 visitors in 85 days.

On September 5 alone, 13 different people were allowed to meet Dileep in the prison.

"As many as 13 visitors were allowed to meet Dileep in a day. This amounts to grave violation of rules regarding the visitor's entry to jail. Jail superintendent has the rights to stretch the number of visitors allowed for a prisoner, but what we see here is misuse of power. Nobody is above law," Binu said.

Dileep was arrested on July 10 because of his alleged involvement in the molestation case.

On July 11, Dileep was expelled from the primary membership of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) after being arrested.
