Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Lok Sabha candidate for Amritsar Arun Jaitley on Tuesday met with a minor accident while canvassing in his constituency.
Jaitley, who was busy with his roadshow, was caught in the middle of a fire that broke out in front of his cavalcade. The outbreak of fire has been blamed on crackers being bursted. Cold compressers were immediately pressed into service to stem the fire and bring the situation under control from spiraling further.
Arun Jaitley has been fielded by the BJP to contest from the high-profile Amritsar constituency of Punjab. Jaitley replaces incumbent Navjot Singh Sidhu.
