Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia on Tuesday advised allies of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) such as the Shiv Sena to encourage BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi so that he feels safe enough to contest from a single Lok Sabha seat.
"If the Shiv Sena is so confident about the BJP's victory, then, they should advise Narendra Modi to contest from one seat only, and give him courage. Contesting from two seats will cost the exchequer. There is nothing called a safe seat. Modi has to decide whether he is aiming to contest a safe election or, bring a change for the good," Sisodia added.
Sisodia also termed that Shiv sena mouthpiece Saamna's views on AAP becoming extinct after the elections as a tool aimed at unsettling its opposition.
"It cannot be expected that Saamna will praise its opposition. It has been a strategy of the BJP and Shiv Sena's Saamna to spread false propaganda for a long time. We leave it to the people to decide about their false propaganda," Sisodia added.
Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had on Tuesday morning dismissed suggestions of the AAP emerging as a strong force that could prevent the BJP-led NDA from coming to power.
He said: "Kejriwal's party will disappear after the Lok Sabha elections. Whatever monkey business Kejriwal does in Varanasi, Modi will win in Varanasi. Entire north India is witnessing a saffron wave because of Modi's Kashi victory. Even Lord Ram is happy. Everyone is dreaming of victory, but after the results, they will awake with a heartbreak.
