Jamaat to observe nation-wide shutdown tomorrow, Sunday

The Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday announced plans to observe a nation-wide shutdown on Thursday and Sunday.

The shutdown will be observed from Thursday 6 a.m. to Friday 6 a.m. and on the same time from Sunday to Monday, reports the Daily Star.

The shutdown is being planned to protest the Supreme Court's verdict to commute war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee's death sentence to imprisonment till death.

The apex court delivered its verdict on Wednesday morning.
