Jason Bateman is set to direct, as well as take on the lead role in upcoming film 'IPO Man.'
The Fox Searchlight project, which is based on a Wired Magazine article titled Meet The Man Who Sold His Fate To Investors At 1 dollar A Share, by Joshua Davis, written on a real story of a man named Mike Merrill, Deadline.com reported.
Bateman, 45, would play Merrill, who had offered himself as a novel commodity for public, and starts to face problems when shareholders start demanding control over life decisions like having a vasectomy, or moving in with his longtime girlfriend.
The film would be scripted by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster, with Big Beach financing, while Bateman and Jim Garavente produce through their Aggregate banner with Davis.
