Jean-Marc Vallee is currently in the talks to direct a biopic on Janis Joplin, which would star Amy Adams, it has been revealed.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the project, which may be written by Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack, will be produced by Ron Terry.

This is the latest development for a biopic that has seen several directors come and go over the years. Lee Daniels boarded the project in 2012; before that, Fernando Meirelles and Catherine Hardwicke were attached as directors.
