Hundreds of tribal women in Jharkhand's Lohardaga village launched an anti liquor campaign on Monday to make their village hooch free.
The tribal women went on a rampage to destroy the material used to produce country-made liquor in the villages.
An anti liquor tribal activist, Malti Devi said, "The campaign has been launched to make the state addiction free."
Earlier, in a parallel movement in 1991, women from the villages of Andhra Pradesh addressed the growing alcohol dependency among men and the consequent domestic abuse.
