Late comedienne Joan Rivers' endoscopy doctor who performed throat endoscopy on Rivers is no longer performing procedures at the clinic.
According to WABC/Channel 7, Dr. Lawrence Cohen was working as a medical director at Yorkville Endoscopy and he was asked to resign after it emerged that he allowed an "unaffiliated" ear, nose and throat specialist to examine Rivers during the endoscopy, the New York Post reported.
A spokesperson for the clinic asserted that that Cohen was no longer working with their facility.
According to reports, Rivers' vocal cords seized during the procedure that cutting off the 81-year-old comedienne's breathing which led to a cardiac arrest.
