A teal blue jacket, which was once worn by iconic singer John Lennon, has been sold for 12,300 dollars to a 'Beatles' female fan.

The anonymous woman bought the jacket as a birthday present for her hubby and said that she was absolutely delighted with her purchase, News.com.au reported.

The woman asserted that the outfit will be added to the couple's extensive Beatles memorabilia collection.

The Nehru-style jacket, which was left by Lennon at his home in Tittenhurst Park in Ascot, Berkshire, when he moved to the US in 1971, was expected to fetch between 8000 and 12,000 pounds.
