John Lithgow will join Ben Affleck in Warner Bros.' upcoming action thriller 'The Accountant.'
The project, which would be helmed by Gavin O'Connor from a script by Bill Dubuque, would centre on a government accountant who doubles as an assassin, Deadline.com reported.
Lithgow, 69, has been cast as Lamar Black, a tech magnate in the robotics field who hires Affleck's character to look at his company's accounting given some recent irregularities.
The film had been in the works for a while and with Mel Gibson attached to direct at one time and Will Smith circling the lead role.
Lynette Howell and Mark Williams would be producing while Jamie Patricof and O'Connor executive produce it, and Drew Crevello and Jon Gonda oversee for the studio.
