A day after he underwent an emergency surgery, singing sensation John Mayer is on the road to recovery.
The 40-year-old musician was rushed to a hospital in New Orleans on Tuesday morning for the operation to remove his appendix as a result of him suffering from acute appendicitis.
He was all set to perform with Dead & Company in New Orleans, but the concert was postponed due to his condition.
But now, the band members have announced that Mayer is on the mend following his operation, but they have now been forced to postpone further dates this week whilst he recovers, reports People Magazine.
The statement read, "John Mayer is recovering from the emergency appendectomy he underwent yesterday and is in good spirits. The Dead & Company concerts scheduled for Dec. 7 in Orlando, Florida and Dec. 8 in Sunrise, Florida, in addition to the December 5 show in New Orleans, are postponed. All tickets for these shows will be honoured for the rescheduled dates."
The 'Gravity' hit-maker tweeted a thank you note shortly after, writing, "Thank you everyone for the well wishes. Had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some amazingly kind and loving tweets. I'm so sorry that we couldn't finish out the last few dates of the tour. This band and these shows mean the world to me. Love you all dearly."
Mayer is currently touring with the band Dead and Company. The performers' Tuesday, Thursday and Friday shows in Louisiana and Florida have been postponed.
