Johnny Depp is in negotiations to star as renowned magician Harry Houdini in Lionsgate/Summit's upcoming film 'The Secret Life of Houdini
According to the Hollywood reporter, the film will be directed by Dean Parisot and the screenplay is written by Noah Oppenheim based on book of the same name by William Kalush and Larry Sloman.
The story will recast Houdini as an investigator of the world of the occult in addition to being a master escape artist.
Meanwhile, the 50-year-old actor's producing partner at Infinitum Nihil, Christi Dembrowski, is also in talks to produce the project along with Frank Marshall and Bruce Cohen.
