Ashes assassin Mitchell Johnson has said that his scare campaign has taken on a life of its own with England's hapless batsmen now broken before they reach the crease, according to reports.

According to News.com.au, England is now gripped by self-doubt and questioning its stomach for the fight, trailing 2-0.

Johnson said that he believes he can sustain an incredible series strike rate of 28 and mental hold over the Old Enemy despite a three day break between Adelaide and the third Test in Perth.

He added that it the intimidation factor was definitely proving to be a bonus, as England batsmen virtually could do nothing in front of his incredible pace and bounce.
