World number nine Justin Rose has joined his fellow golfers in complaining about the putting surfaces at US Open host-site Chambers Bay.
Rose has described the greens at Chambers Bay as 'outdoor bingo'.
The 2013 champion said that he had a five-foot putt on the first and did not have the first idea what it was going to do, the BBC reported.
Henrik Stenson, who is four shots behind the leaders, was also unhappy about the course, saying that the greens were borderline laughable and it was like putting on broccoli.
Rose, who was the runner-up at the Masters, is on two over, seven shots behind pacesetters Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed, and struggled at the seventh in particular, taking two to get out of a bunker for a triple bogey.
Earlier, nine-time major champion Gary Player had criticised the 115th edition of US Open at Chambers Bay, dubbing it the 'most unpleasant tournament' he has ever seen.
